The National Tourist Area of Tejeda

Over 3000 crocodiles, tropical fish, other reptiles, tarantulas and a parrot show are some of the things on offer for this full days visit. The presentation of the life cycle of the crocodile is very informative and very safe.

A restaurant divides the park into two halves and it is here that the parrot show is staged.

The second part of the park is a zoo but it is worth noting that the whole park is run as a charity, receiving no funds from the government. All of the animals have been rescued, some from the streets (used as street entertainment), some no longer wanted by their circus owners and some even started out as pets but outgrew their homes or became uncontrollable by their ill-informed owners.
