The National Tourist Area of Tejeda

The most scenic area of Gran Canaria is found 2,200 mtrs up in the centre of the island in and around Mt Tejeda.

Alpine forests, reservoirs, rocky mountains and an alpine climate are just some of the reasons to experience a day out in the mountains of Tejeda.

Access by car is limited, especially if you want to get down to the shores of the reservoirs. We have found that a fun way to see these sights is by a day long safari by jeep. Several jeeps go in convoy, each carrying around 8 persons. There are companies advertising these safaris most starting from Play del Ingles, so very convenient to get to from the apartments.
